Spring time means bursting buds and blooms, and the dessert equivalent, for me, is lemon meringue pie. And a sky-high one at that.
I made this one using a simple Canadian Living recipe - a little different than the usual but just as lemony and and delicious. For the crust I use the tried and true Cooks Illustrated Fool-Proof pie crust recipe. Vodka is the secret.

February 25th and 26th: Vagina Monologues and Craft Sale
Ottawa V-Day, part of a global campaign to end violence against women and girls, will host three benefit productions of The Vagina Monologues at the National Art Gallery.
Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the Door. Proceeds go to the Sexual Assault Support Center, The Rape Crisis Centre and to aid survivors of sexual assault in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
And, there will be artists and crafters selling their wares before and after the shows (and during intermission). I’ll be there with lots of great new stuff.
